Positive humour

"Laughing is medicine." This age old saying is as true today as centuries ago. A sense of positive humour is an attribute which helps us to see the bright and, of course, the funny side of life.

A joke is not the same as humour. Positive humour has deeper meaning. It includes compassion with the situation. It tell a story with a message. In fact the definition of humour is "a laugh with a tear".

Humour is all around us wherever people get together. Humour is everywhere but it needs keen observation and listening to notice it.

Humour can also be created, as has been done by authors over time. This can be a form of jest or poking fun at more serious things, as long as it remanins in good taste.

On this page we are going to collect examples of positive humour in the true sense of the word. Readers can start collecting examples and send them in when this website is fully up and running.

EXAMPLES OF POSITIVE HUMOUR

YOUNG FARMER

A young farmer decided that it is time to get a wife, so he advertised as follows in a magazine:

"Young farmer is looking for a wife, with a tractor. Send photo of tractor."

TWO ATOMS

As you probably know, a Hydrogin atom has a core in the form of a proton with a positive electric charge and one electron with a negative charge, circling the proton. The humourous story is about two hydrogin atoms who met each other and started talkng.

"You know," said the one atom, "I lost my electron."

"Really?" said the other one, "Are you sure?"

"Yes," said the first one, "I am positive!"

A SURVEY ON WHO MAKES WHAT DECISIONS IN THE HOME

A survey was conducted to determine who makes the different decisions in the home. A woman was asked what decisions does she make.

‘Oh, she said, ‘I make the small decisions, like which bank we use, which car we buy, where we are going to buy our next house.

‘What does your husband decide?”

‘Oh, he makes the big decisions, like what is the solution in the Middle East.’
